These Terms of Service govern your use of the Potomac Carpets website at potomaccarpets.com, and your request for carpet and flooring services through our website, phone, SMS or text message, email, or any other channel you reach us on.
By using this website, submitting a form, requesting a quote, scheduling service, or accepting work from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website or request services from us.

1. Who we are
Potomac Carpets is the customer-facing website and service brand for carpet and flooring work in Potomac, Maryland and the surrounding Montgomery County communities.
Potomac Carpets, Potomac, Maryland, United States. Website potomaccarpets.com. Phone +1 240 751 5542. Email info@potomaccarpets.com.
The physical, on-site work is carried out by our operating company and its installers. References to "Potomac Carpets", "our operating company", "we", "us" or "our" may refer, as applicable, to the businesses involved in receiving your inquiry, providing an estimate, scheduling the work, and completing it.
2. Services
We provide carpet and flooring services in Potomac, MD and the surrounding area, including:
- Carpet installation and replacement, wall-to-wall, wool and patterned carpet
- Carpet repair and carpet stretching
- Stair runner installation and basement carpet
- Hardwood flooring installation, hardwood refinishing and engineered hardwood
- Laminate, luxury vinyl plank and waterproof flooring
- Commercial and residential carpet, and related flooring work
Each of these is described on its own page under services.
All services are subject to availability, site conditions, access, materials, measurements, project scope and our own assessment. We may refuse, cancel, reschedule or change a service where that is necessary because of unsafe conditions, unsuitable site conditions, inaccurate information, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
The pages on this site are general information. They describe how we work, what usually goes wrong with an old floor, roughly what things cost, and where we work. None of that guarantees that a particular carpet, method, date or service is available at your property. Sending a form, emailing us or leaving a voicemail does not create a contract, hold an installation date, or oblige us to do the work.
3. Contact consent
When you submit a form on this website or give us your contact details, you consent to Potomac Carpets and our operating company contacting you by phone call, SMS or text message, and email.
We may contact you to:
- Respond to your inquiry
- Discuss the services you asked about
- Provide a quote or estimate
- Ask for photos, measurements or more detail
- Schedule or confirm an appointment
- Follow up about the service you requested
Message and data rates may apply to SMS. You can ask us to stop using any one of those methods at any time.
4. Quotes and estimates
Basis. Quotes and estimates are based on the information available when we give them: your photos, your description, a phone conversation, or an on-site assessment.
Variation. Final pricing can change with actual site conditions, real measurements, material costs, access problems, or extra work you ask for.
Validity. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless the quote itself says otherwise in writing.
Revision. We may revise a quote if the scope changes or the site turns out to differ from what was described to us.
The carpet and flooring cost calculator on this site is a budgeting tool, not a quote, an estimate or an offer. It builds a range from the quantities you type in. It cannot see your rooms, your stairs or your subfloor.
5. On-site assessment and scheduling
Some jobs need an on-site assessment before we can price or schedule them. If the conditions we find differ from what was originally described, the price or the timeline can change.
We make reasonable efforts to arrive inside a scheduled window. Traffic, weather, a previous job running long, or other circumstances outside our control can cause delays.
6. Customer responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Giving us accurate contact and service address details
- Describing the project accurately and telling us about known pre-existing problems
- Providing safe, reasonable and clear access to the work area
- Removing fragile, valuable, personal and breakable items from the work area
- Arranging parking, building access, elevator booking or approvals where they are needed
- Keeping pets and children safely away from the work area
7. Materials and property
Furniture and belongings. Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, moving furniture and personal items before we start is your responsibility. We are not responsible for damage to fragile, overloaded or already-damaged items.
Customer-supplied materials. If you supply your own carpet, flooring, underlay or trim, you are responsible for making sure it is the right product, suitable for the space, and in good condition. We are not responsible for shortages, wrong material, or manufacturer defects in anything you supply.
8. Payment terms
Invoicing. Payment terms are set out in your quote, invoice or service agreement.
Deposits. A deposit may be required to hold your appointment or to order materials.
Final payment. Final payment is due on completion unless we agreed otherwise in writing.
Accepted methods. Accepted payment methods are agreed per job and confirmed before or with the invoice.
Late payment. Late payment may attract additional fees or interest to the extent the law allows.
9. Cancellations and rescheduling
Please give us at least 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time to cancel or reschedule.
Deposits stop being refundable once materials have been ordered or work has started.
We may reschedule because of unsafe weather, an emergency, or circumstances outside our control.
10. Photos and media on this website
The photographs on this website illustrate the kind of work we do and the finishes we install. They are not a promise that your job will look identical. Results vary with the room, the product you choose, the condition of the existing floor and the subfloor underneath it.
Where a page shows a specific job of ours, it says so. If an image is illustrative rather than a record of a completed project, treat it that way.
11. Warranties and limitations
Workmanship. We stand behind our workmanship. The specific warranty terms that apply to your job are confirmed in your quote, invoice or agreement, not on this page.
Exclusions. Warranty cover does not extend to normal wear and tear, improper maintenance, water damage, pet damage, customer-supplied materials, pre-existing structural problems, or changes made by anyone else after we finish.
Manufacturer terms. The manufacturer's own warranty and care documents apply to the products we install, on top of anything we agree with you.
Service limitations. Repairs, patches, stretches and refinishing can stay slightly visible depending on the age, wear pattern and condition of the existing material. A patch is a repair, not a new floor.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we and our operating company are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount actually paid for that service.
13. Website use and intellectual property
Use. The content on this website is general information. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, or copy content for unlawful purposes.
Intellectual property. The text, images, logos and photographs on this site are owned by or licensed to us and may not be reproduced without our prior written permission.
Third parties. This site may use third-party tools and may link out to other websites. We do not control what those sites publish or how they handle your data. See our privacy policy for what this website collects.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and the applicable laws of the United States. Any legal dispute will be handled in the courts located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Terms Questions
Is the calculator result a quote?
No. It is a range built from the numbers you typed in. It has not seen your rooms, your stairs or your subfloor. Only a measured written proposal prices your job.
Does sending the form book my dates?
No. Nothing is booked until we have agreed the scope, the material and the access, and you have accepted a written proposal.
Which document controls the work?
The proposal or contract you signed, plus any change orders you approved and the manufacturer's own documents for the products we install. These website terms sit underneath that, not over it.
How much notice do you need to cancel?
At least 48 hours before the scheduled start. After materials are ordered or work has started, any deposit stops being refundable.
